Meetings and Programs

The Photography Club generally meets monthly, occasionally conducting a field trip in place of a meeting. Agendas of the meetings will frequently include presentations by members or by outside experts.  The content of the programs is aimed at enabling club members to obtain photographic images of quality and to improve understanding of the processing, storage, and final display of these images.

The diverse experience of this Club’s membership offers the advantage of bringing forward the photographic “arts” from the film camera era and enhancing them with today’s digital technology tools. By photographic “arts” we mean creating images using the principles of good photography, such as composition, depth of field, lighting, capturing “the moment,” and then developing the skills needed for sharing images including emailing, printing, mounting, matting, framing and projecting.

Thus, as a Club, our activities are attempting to blend technical training along with teaching photography as an art form. Exhibits of members’ photographs are periodically planned and displayed in the Clubhouse. Programs are intended to be of interest to beginning photographers as well as to more serious amateurs.
